Who is the Artist?


"As a child I always wanted to be an “artist” If I'd only known then that I already was one! I now believe that if you have a will & drive to create, it doesn't matter what your skill level is or even what you create...
You're already an artist."

In 2015 I came close to finishing my first oil painting titled “Tri Cycle Farms Barn” & then I just stopped. Five years past and I didn't create any art. In that time, I was building a career in Real Estate and I became a mother. I focused all of my time & energy on family, friends, and my work. life became busy & I neglected something I needed in my life for too long. 
I needed to create art. 

I realized in 2020 (pre-covid) 
that my soul was unnourishedI was done ignoring 
a huge part of who I am. I picked my brush back up, kicked my imposter syndrome to the side, 
and I finished that painting.

Later that spring, Covid-19 took over life as I knew it & personal circumstances resulting from the pandemic meant I had to go inactive with my Real Estate License to stay home with my daughter full time. This was a challenging time of life & I knew art and gardening & spending time with my daughter each day, would be the best things to support my mental health. So, I spent that summer learning watercolors & developing my skills and style.

As my confidence grew in my abilities I decided It was time to share my work & pursue art beyond a hobby. I started an art page on Instagram & finally began calling myself an ARTIST!! Soon I had friends and family reaching out to commission me.

My journey is continual and my growth is too. After a few years focusing on learning watercolor. I have returned to painting with acrylics on canvas and have been exploring creating textured works with a palette knife. I am loving the experience of re-learning this medium, while still creating and offering watercolors to my collectors.
